Weekend Windup - It's February!

I don't know why I put an exclamation point up there. I'm not a big fan of February. It's just...eh. Today's late post is brought to you by Too Much Tequila Last Night** and its co-sponsor Meetings All Day.

**And by "too much tequila" I mean "any tequila."

Moving on... Friday night Aaron and I went out to see the Oscar-nominated Animated Short Films. Every year he says he wants to see the shorts but this is the first time we've managed to do it. What a fun experience! We really enjoyed them, especially Room on the Broom, which I then read in a review that it would only satisfy the "youngest fans." Oh well, call me young then. I don't mind.

We picked up some Chinese takeout, then Kat came over and later we met up with more friends at Little Rock (our corner bar).

Aaron and Kat really enjoy the fireplace.

Saturday Aaron decided that we needed to organize my jewelry. And I do mean WE. I'll have more on that later this week, but here's a teaser:

Aaron then went to the Blue Jackets hockey game. I ordered a pizza and went back to Little Rock, where they had their inaugural first-Saturday-of-the-month karaoke.

Sunday we went to church, then watched the Superbowl with good friends and good food and, yes, a bit of tequila. The game left a lot to be desired and the commercials weren't super great, except for the Budweiser puppy/Clydesdale one. I also liked the Doritos time machine and the latest Cheerios commercial (I love that they're not backing down). I liked the Coke commercial, too. If you didn't that's fine, but some of the reasons people have for not liking it just blow my mind.

I admit that I was skeptical about Bruno Mars being the halftime entertainment, not because I don't like him but I didn't feel he had the longevity to deserve it. Consider my mind changed. I thought it was a fantastic halftime show! Bruno Mars is quite the showman and of course the Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't disappoint.

Finally, I couldn't resist sharing this picture. Bella is quite the Daddy's girl, but this proves that she's a little like her mama, too.

"Is this heaven?"

  1. Oh that Bella is a princess for sure! SO cute. Just reading the word 'tequilla' makes me cringe. And I love tequila, but it does not love me. Or you. But sometimes, when the Superbowl is a blowout, you call in the tequila to liven things up! I think it's hillarious that is was Aaron's idea to organize your jewelry!
