Italy - Post 5

We're winding down our time in Tuscany. If you've missed any of the previous posts, you can find them here: Part 1 The Villa, Part 2 Lucca, Part 3 Cinque Terre, Part 4 Florence.

On Thursday I decided I needed down time, but some of the group went into town for lunch and to get wine. Here are pictures of their food, because who doesn't love food pictures?

At the villa there were loads of empty wine jugs. Why? So we could get them filled at the hardware store, of course! By Thursday it was time for refills so the lunch crew went there as well:

Your basic hardware store (check out the nun at the counter)

1. Tanks of wine | 2. Some of our empties | 3. Getting them filled | 4. Price: €1.80 per liter. For real.

And hey, if you need some gardening supplies, they're right here, too!

Now to get the goods back "home."

Thursday evening we had a cooking class at our villa. Alessandra and her assistant Tamara brought all the ingredients (and wine) and we had a very hands-on class and then enjoyed a delicious dinner.

Prepping dinner - Aaron was in his glory (I love that pic of him)

Dinner included two kinds of bruschetta; ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta cooked in butter and sage; chicken with lemon, rosemary, sage and olives; vegetable pie; biscotti

We each got a little recipe booklet (I have actually made the biscotti here at home).

Next: our last day in Tuscany before traveling to Rome!
