Day 7 of Blog Every Day in May is "the thing(s) you're most afraid of" and instead of being super deep and perhaps predictable, I'm taking a different route.
This is the view from the top of the stairs at home:
I'm not afraid of heights, unlike someone else in my household, but almost every time I descend the stairs either at home or at work, I see myself falling down them. I'm not extremely graceful; in fact, I'm kind of a klutz so this is not an irrational fear. I'm also terrified of getting up on a ladder.
This next one is kind of weird, though. When walking from my office to the parking garage I have to encounter this:
And naturally, I'm so anxious to get out of there that I always have my keys in my hand and for some unknown reason I'm positive that I'm going to drop my keys through the grate. I seriously tighten my grip when I walk by there.
Finally, let's just say that the only rodents I can even deal with are these:
Hehe- love the Mickey/Minnie appearance ;) I am CONSTANTLY terrified of dropping my keys down our work elevators!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in center city Philly, I was terrified of walking over subway grates. I'm also afraid of crickets. No idea why. At least you can acknowledge and embrace the fears, no matter how asinine they may seem! <3
ReplyDeleteYES to dropping my keys down grates. And I'm afraid to drop things onto the train tracks too while I'm waiting.
ReplyDeleteAnd stairs of course.
I worry about the grates too. And the stairs.....totally rational. I fell down the stairs just last week and injured my right knee. Waiting on MRI results, but it's likely a tendon tear :( I am definately a klutz!
ReplyDeleteI dropped my keys down the sewer once in the middle of the night...house keys and all.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant and even after I had my kids I envisioned myself falling down the stairs with them in my arms like ten times a day! I was so paranoid!! I still get visions like that sometimes, not while holding them anymore though. I'm a klutz too. I hate it!
