A Gwensday in the Life...of Gwen

Well, this will be boring, but to fulfill the challenge for Day 15, here is a "typical" weekday for me.

Alarm goes off at 6:30. I hit snooze, but Aaron usually gets up (if he's not already up) and makes coffee and feeds the cats. I roll out of bed between 7:00 and 7:30-ish, depending on if I'm washing my hair or not.

Usually the first thing I notice is how crazy the cats got with the upstairs rug. This was today:

I have coffee, make myself gorgeous presentable, grab some breakfast - usually a protein bar because I'm running late anyway - and attempt to get to work by 8:30, which ends up being at least 8:45. My morning commute is about 10 minutes.

There's not a chance in hell I'm showing you my office. It's a disaster area and people have been known to go in there and never come out. On the one hand, I should do something about that, but then it might look like I have nothing to do (not true). I'll make it a goal to tidy that shit up before I leave for vacation in 3 weeks. It will probably take me that long.

I do have a window, even though my back is to it. So here's the view:

I usually eat lunch around 1:00 with my friend/coworker Kendra. We've been trying to be very good this year and bring our lunches instead of going to Chipotle once (OK, twice) a week. But it's right across the street!

On a normal day I leave work at 5:30 and sometimes spend my paycheck at Target run errands. I'll get home and see if Aaron has cooked dinner, which these days the answer to that is usually no, so we end up going out. Bad, bad, bad! Tonight I got lucky with some leftover shrimp and pasta.

If I'm really lucky I might get a visit from this handsome dude (the token child in the 'hood):

If it's a choir rehearsal night, we go there; if not, I either do some work for my side bookkeeping business, blog, watch TV, get in some exercise WHILE watching TV... Actually I do most everything I can while watching TV. Multitasking, people. But now that the weather is nice, I try to spend some time on the screened porch doing perhaps one of these two things:

So there you have it. A typically thrilling day in my life right now!

  5. Now I really want to see what your office looks like! Haha... And I know what you mean about trying not to spend your whole paycheck at Target. They always have just what I "need", even though I didn't know I needed it until I walked into the store. :)
