I'm Gonna Make a Change...

Today I have some big news to share with you and it's something that I haven't been able to say for over 16 years:

I have a new job!

That's right, I've been at my current job for SIX. TEEN. YEARS.

"But how can that be, Gwen, when clearly you're no older than 28?"

Hahahahaha

During the Blog Every Day in May challenge, I talked a bit about being in accounting and how I'd love to do something different. I worked in small CPA firms for the first several years out of college, and then went to work for a family-owned business. They mainly deal with real estate development / construction / property management, and I've been in the accounting department since 1997.

While I'll still be number crunching, I will now be working for ... wait for it ... a microbrewery!

I've done work for the Columbus Brewing Company for a long time, and they are now ready to use me full time and I'm ready to make a change. The bonus (for me) is that they really don't have office space right now so I'll get have to work from home. This could be interesting, since Aaron also works from home, although he's rarely home all day long.

My first official day is September 3rd. I'm really excited about this new opportunity, although I will be leaving some wonderful coworkers and friends, so the tears will be flowing in the next couple weeks, I'm sure.
